1/26/11 They may not find food. They may not get off the Inland. The black old man dies. The old man saves Phillip. Phillip gets badly hurt. 2/1/11 Phillip is the main character in this book .Phillip lives in the capital of Willemstad . The story takes place in curacao of Willemstad. The problem is that the germans are attacking and they don't have any weapons plus there men are dying and his mom is worried that they can't go any where that the time because his father has to work there in the capital of Willemstad.
2/8/11 I think Phillip doesn't like Timothy because he's nothing like his family members and because he was a crew member of the "Hato". Phillip blames his mother for all of this because she was the one who went on the "Hato",she was the one who brought him with her and she was the one who hated curacao.
2/9/11 Timothy tells Phillip to stay away from the edge of the raft because he is blind and there are sharks in the water that are always looking for food. Timothy burns a torch to try to signal a airplane. Timothy gets mad a Phillip for falling of the raft when he spotted a island but Timothy forgot that Phillip is blind. Timothy abandon the raft so he could get to the island because there better of on land. If I had the choice to go to and island or stay on a raft I would go to the island because we have a better chance of hunting and surviving than I would out at sea.
2/51/11 For Phillip to walk around the whole island he uses a rope/vine and a cane. Phillip thinks Timothy is trying to be independent because he's never around. Timothy thinks all of there troubles are happening because a evil jumbi is cursing them. Timothy gets rid of the jumbi by setting of his raft.
2/23/11 Timothy knows that a storm is coming because of the sound of rifles in the water. Timothy prepares them a big meal before the storm hit Timothy made then get on the sand face down, Timothy tide them to a palm tree. the storm that hit the cay was a hurricane and those that can make floods, rain that unbelievably hurt and makes the wether really hot. Timothy prevents Phillip from getting hurt by holding him on his chest .In the storm timothy gets cut every were on his back and ends up getting killed. I think Phillip feels scared when he's all alone the forgotten cay.
