They meet a tribe on the island. The tribe calls themselves the Cay. The cat is named Cay. The old man's name is Cay,and when he meets an evil scientist on the island the scientist clones him 15000 times.

So far, the main character is a boy named Phillip, who is growing up in Curacao, during WW2. Phillip isn't very scared, but his Mom is. The Germans attack where he lives, so his Mom wants to move back to Virginia, but his Dad doesn't want to. They fight a lot.
2-8-11 Maybe Phillip dislikes Timothy because he is black, or the way he talks. It could be the thing about the water.Or, it could be Timothy's eating habits. But maybe it could be Phillip just wants to go home to his father. I don't know why Phillip would be angry with his mom- she just wanted him to be safe!
2-9-11 1. Timothy told Phillip to stay away from the raft because Phillip could fall off the edge and get eaten by sharks. 2. To get an airplane to notice them, Timothy tears of part of his shirt and sets on fire, hoping the airplane will see the smoke. 3. When Timothy spotted the island, Phillip gets so excited, he crawls out to the edge of the raft,even after Timothy told him not to and falls overboard.

Timothy decides to go to the island (or 'cay') because he believes it will be easier to attract an airplane for help. 2-15-11 1. Phillip starts walking on the beach every day. 2. Phillip thinks that Timothy is trying help him become independent because they both realize that Timothy could die on the cay. 3. Timothy thinks Stew Cat is the cause of all their troubles, but I don't know why, because, all Stew Cat does is eat,sleep,and meow.

4. To stop the 'evil jumbi',(Which Timothy thinks is Stew Cat.) Timothy makes a wooden voo-doo doll of Stew Cat, and sticks nails into it. But has Stew Cat died yet? No.

Timothy puts all their supplies on the top of a palm tree, enjoys a large meal with Phillip ( he says they might not be able to eat for a few days), and takes all of their other supplies of of the raft. 3. A hurricane hit the Cay. After a few hours of being pushed up against a palm tree, Timothy and Phillip meet with the eye. 4. Timothy stands behind Phillip so that all the force of the storm is put on Timothy. 5. Timothy gets so shaken up, that he dies. 6. Phillip is probably scared now that he is alone on the Cay.
