I predict that there is going be lots of animals. like cats tigers monkeys lots of tropical fish and lots of other jungle animals. I also think that the animals will be trying to get rid of the people on the island. I think the animals will be able to camunacate with ech other. I think this book will be a lot like kenzukeys kingdom. by the back of the book and by the picture i really think the old man will be like the old man in (kenzukes meaning friends with all animals) kingdom.

Phillip had heard a lot about war. He said he was not scared. I think i would be extremely scared. Phillip and his dad and mother live on a island named Curacao. The war was all over the word exclaimed Phillip. Now it was in Curacao. Phillip said he remembers the the night of 1942 the nazis they attacked the big Lago Oil refinery on the island of Aruba. A island west of Curacao. Then they blew up 6 of Curacaos small lake tankers. The Germens arrived on submarines while Phillip was sleeping. The mom said it was to dangerous to stay her in Curacao. She said they should go back to Norfolk tell the danger was over. Then the father put in that there is more danger in the trip back but the mother was to scared of flying. So now Phillip might be going to Norfolk......

Phillip is mad at Timothy. Timothy wont let Phillip drink all the water. Phillip said he thinks that Timothy is saving it for himself but Phillip is very thirsty and felt as if he deserved a howl glass of water. Timothy wont let him. Timothy told Phillip they will soon be picked up. So Phillip complains about his thirst. He refaces to eat the raw fish that Timothy caught. He refaces to talk to old black man. I think Phillip dose not understand that Timothy is just being reasonable and understands that he said they will be picked up soon but soon could mean anything. Phillip dose not get that raw fish is all they have to eat. He is probably used to cooked foods. Not raw fish! Not only dose Phillip blame TImothy he blames his mother for setting him on this dreadful island. With a man and his cat and now himself. how will they stay alive? How will they manage to live? what if they never get off this awful island?

1. Why does Timothy tell Phillip to stay away from the edge of the raft? because if Phillip gets close to the edge phillip might fall off cus he is blind. Sense he cant see if he falls he will not be able to get back up. There are sharks in the water that they are surrounded by. Phillip and Timothy could get hurt.

4. Why does Timothy decide to abandon the raft and go to the desolate island? Timothy said he was going to go to the island. Timothy said there was no people but there might be fresh barries. of fruit that grow frum trees. Or animals to hunt! Maby a spring of fresh water. But Phillip wanted to stay on the rafed he said Should we stay on the rafed i know my dad is looking for me i know he is. I just know it.
5. If it were up to you would you prefer to stay on the raft to go to the island? Yes cus i am scared of sharks! Sharks bight the snap there big jaws at you if you try to swim away they chase you and you will probably die. If you stay where you are they look at you for a while and then you will die. So i would stay on the rafed and not put a finger in that water.

1. What does Phillip do so that he can walk around the whole island without Timothy's help? Timothy uses vines to make a rope that go's all around the island. So Phillip can walk where he want's to without falling or loosing where he is. If Phillip hears a ship or plane he can follow the vine to the beach area and light a fire. hopfully Phillip and Timothy will someday make it of the island.

2. Explain in detail 3 precautionary things that Timothy does just before the storm hits the cay. Timothy takes all the things that might fly away of the raft of and ties some of the things in trees. he ties the water keg and a little knife in a tin box in a tree. he also tied Philips and his one hands to the tree.
5. What happens to Timothy during the storm? Timothy and Phillip become unconscious and sense Timothy is old he goes to sleep and wakes up he seas Phileep are you all right. and then he went back to sleep Phillip went to sleep to and when Phillip awakened he noteced thet Timothy was dead.
6. How do you think Phillip feels now that he is left alone on the cay? I think Phillip fells scared and fells overwhelmed that he might not servive. and now he must figure out how to live alone blind with a cat and his little he knows that Timothy tuoght him.

I perdicd that Phillip will get of the island. By makeing a big fire and a plane will come and pick him up. He will not know that the plane will be there but when the plane lands he will her a vose. i think that the plane will be a small plane and that only one person is in it.

1. He told philip to stay away from the edge of the raft because there was sharks in it. 2. He try to burn cloth and light it on fire to make smoke. 3. He fall because he thought that he could see and stud up so fast and he fell off the the raft and Timothy had to jump in the water to save Philip because there was sharks in the water. 4. he wants a bigger island instead of a small raft and there was palm trees and there could have been fresh spring water. 5. I would stay on the raft because it is smaller so you can keep warm and also because there are sharks in the water so if the raft tips we will get eaten alive.
February 2-15-2011 1. Philip uses a walking stick to walk around the whole island.2. he is trying to make Philip independent because he is trying to make Philip help him because he might die.3. timothy says that stew cat is bad luck so he does something that Philip doesn't like he thinks that Timothy is going to kill stew cat.4. Timothy carves out a wooden figure of stew cat he thinks that will help.
stew cat. February 23-2011 i predict he is going to live. I think that he is going to live on this island naked. I think he is going to miss Timothy. I think he is probably going to kill stew cat. At the end he is going to stand at Timothy's grave

He gets slammed by the waves and dies.
I think he is really worried and sad. He does know how to survive though and is being strong.

I think that philip is going to get off the island. He might not get to getting the signal fire ready. Then he might light anything on fire. There will be a terrible fire. It is his the U.S navy going to fight the Germans. They see the fire and get him just in time. He goes home and his mom is there. His parents say that his mom floated home and think it is a miracle to find Philip. Philip gets his sight back. His mom is liking Willamstad now and wants to stay.

4. How does Timothy prevent Phillip from becoming seriously injured? Timothy tied both himself and Phillip to a tree. When one of the huge waves crashed agensed the backs of the both of them Timothy would get in front of phillip so that the crashing waves did not heart him.
